Holly S. Lohuis, marine biologist, marine educator, science advisor and Jean-Michel Cousteau’s dive partner for the past 22 years, offers an engaging, uplifting and educational presentation on “Nature, Wisdom and Mindfulness: Inspiration for a Sustainable Future of our Oceans.” Through a multi-media presentation, Holly will share a wealth of stories and beautiful images from her adventurous life, including behind the scenes images from Jean-Michel Cousteau Ocean Futures Society’s latest IMAX film, ‘Secret Ocean 3D’.

With a degree in aquatic biology from UC Santa Barbara and experience in the ocean realm around the world, Holly speaks to the beauty and crises facing our water planet, highlighting the complexities of the ocean environment and some of the impacts threatening the long-term vitality of our oceans. Using kelp forests and coral reefs to exemplify a sustainable underwater city, Holly will detail many lessons the ocean can teach us, inspiring us all to take part in the global solution of marine conservation and stewardship. Protecting our ocean now will be our gift to the future.
