Two Santa Barbara Harbor legends, Bob Kirby (left) and Mike McCorkle, in front of the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum.
After a hard 17 day renovation, we will be open to the public Monday morning, December 7th at 10am. The Museum has never looked better, but there is one more thing to be done and that is installing our new Children’s Gallery – starting on Monday and finishing up by the end of the week.
Renovating SBMM is in full production. No turning back now.
When was the last time you were at the Harbor. Great places to have lunch and the Museum Store is a place to find that perfect gift.
Spirit of Dana Point docking to make ready of a day of tours during the Harbor and Seafood Festival and then heading out for a 2 hour sail before sunset.
The Spirit of Dana Point is back in our waters to teach some lucky 4th and 5th graders what it is like to have lived and worked on a tall ship in the 1830s. First they get a tour of the Maritime Museum by our docents before they are mustered and marched to the ship by the First Mate. Then they learn how to work the ship, cook meals and take turns standing watch throughout the night. In the morning, they leave the shipwith a stronger self-esteem. We are proud to be able to give these kids a day they will never forget.
