One of the milestones in Santa Barbra’s history was the opening of the six-story, 30 acre Potter Hotel on January 19, 1903.  Covering 30-acres along Santa Barbara’s West Beach, the hotel was the final word in taste, elegance and luxury.  No comfort or service was overlooked, a tradition soon appreciated by America's wealthiest families who came, who saw, who stayed.

On July 20, 2010, local historian Neal Graffy will provide an illustrated lecture to give Santa Barbaran’s the opportunity to enter the hotel as a guest, stroll through its exquisite gardens and zoo, visit the Potter farm and play a round of golf and enjoy polo at the Potter country club in Hope Ranch.
